Previous: Reich controlled by Oligarchy! (CYOAH)
Depsite Himmler's plan to back stab the Russians, he can not get the rest of his colleagues to agree with him. Many are afraid of what the Red Army could do, while other's are already worried about the "Spanish Question," as the people of the Iberian Peninsula have rose up and have started resisting the occupiers.
Soviet informants in the German Hierarchy get wind of the dissent, Stalin decides that the time is right to break the agreement and fight the Nazi's. He decides to secretly withdraw his best divisions in Spain, replacing them with inferior units, until he has assembled an overwhelming force. As well, Communist groups in the rest of Nazi occupied Europe get money and weapons, which is to be used when the time is right to cause havoc for the German's.
On June 22, 1943, after over a year of planning, the Red Army sweeps across the German border into occupied Poland, swiftly taking over Warsaw. The resistance rises up in England, Scotland, Ireland, Scandinavia and France, while taking an enormously savage leap in Spain.
The Oligarchy is dumbfounded. Orders and counter orders, many of them contradictory, issued forth from Berlin, Paris, Madrid, London, Dublin, Vienna and the rest of the Nazi occupied Europe. Eventually, Field Marshall von Manstein manages to outmaneuver the other Oligarch's and becomes the de-facto head of the group (Himmler having been killed in an air raid on Berlin on the first day of the war). But, now he is faced with the challenge to drive back the Soviet invasion. What does he do?
