The houses of the National Assembly sit in Leinster House. Dail Eireann is by far the more powerful and large house.
Daíl Eireann is directly elected by the people. All people over 18 and not in jail has a right to vote in the general election which is the process of electing the Daíl. The Daíl must hold a general election every 5 years but the President may dissolve it earlier if needs be. The Daíl has 230 members.
The House of Senatos currently has 50 seats. 25 are elected by the people. 10 are nominated by the President. 5 are elected by 3 universities. 10 are then elected by the Council of the State.
