Mike (Mike Dale Marx) Beebe is the secretary-general of the people's council of the Socialist Republic Arkansas, and thus head of state of Arkansas, which is mostly a symbolic office.
He was born on 28 December 1946 in Amagon, Jackson Commune, Arkansas, the son of a single mother who was a waitress. He joined the Socialist Party of Arkansas and eventually was elected secretary-general by the party congress in 2006, taking office on 9 January 2007.
