Michel Ney (10 January 1769 - 16 August 1840) was a French soldier and military commander from the French Revolutionary Wars and the First Global War. He later retired from the military, but was asked by Napoleon to become the Grand Marshal of Foreign Affairs. He was nicknamed le Brave des Braves ("the bravest of the brave") by Napoleon I.
