Maya Murata is the current Prime Minister of Japan.
Maya was born on November 28, 1967 in Tokyo to a Formosan father and Japanese mother and named Hsieh Lien-fang (a name she changed to Maya Murata when she married). She studied law at Shigeru Yoshida University from 1986 to 1989 before entering a brief modelling career. In 1991 she was hired as a New Anchor by TNA, and by 1998 she had become one of Japan's foremost TV presenters.
In 2004 she suddenly resigned from her job and ran as a Democratic party candidate for the Tokyo 5th constituency, winning the seat by a landslide. She was one of the so called "Koike Girls" of the 2004 and 2008 elections - young, new
