Mary of England (18 February 1516 - 17 November 1558) was the daughter of Henry VIII and Catherine of Aragon. In 1553, when her brother Edward became ill she married Phillip II of Spain, believing that she would become queen. When Edward recovered he was outraged that his sister had married without his consent, although there was nothing he could do about the situations without going to war with Spain. She died shortly after giving birth to her daughter, Isabel.
