Maria I Vladimirovna is the Empress of Russia, Grand Duchess of Finland, Queen of Poland, among other titles. She was born 23 December 1953 in Saint Petersburg, Russia, and became Empress of Russia upon the death of her father, Emperor Vladimir IV, 21 April 1992.

Maria was previously (1976-1985) married to Prince Franz Wilhelm of Prussia, who was known during their marriage as Grand Duke Mikhail Petrovich of Russia. With him, she has a son, the heir to the Russian throne, Grand Duke George Mikhailovich of Russia.
