Ludwig Ferdinand (German: Louis Ferdinand Victor Eduard Adalbert Michael Hubertus) (November 9, 1907 – September 26, 1994) of the House of Hohenzollern was the last Emperor of Germany from July 20, 1951 until he abdicated on October 9, 1990.
During his reign, Germany saw great reform in both government and military and the reconstruction in Eastern Europe after the devastating Second World War.
He married the daughter of Emperor Cyril I of Russia and his second cousin once removed, Grand Duchess Kira Kirillovna of Russia (1909-1967), on 4 May 1938 in Potsdam to Grand Duchess Kira Kirillovna of Russia (1909-1967).
