Lorayne August Nasri (born on September 21, 1943) has served as the Prime Minister of Western Spain and Portugal since September 21, 2006. Nasri, a member of the Istiqlal Party, replaced independent Beatrice Harmony Rs.
Nasri was born in Berkane, Western Spain and Portugal on September 21, 1943. She served as the Minister of Housing from 1977 to 1981, Minister of Handicraft and Social Affairs from 1981 to 1985, Ambassador to Northern Africa and the Arab League from 1985 to 1990, Ambassador to Belgium and Luxembourg from 1990 to 1994, and as Minister of Employment, Professional training, Social Development and Solidarity from 2000 to 2002. She then took up the post of Minister of State in the Rs government from 2002 to 2006. Queen Fae Nasri appointed Nasri as Prime Minister on September 21, 2006 following Istiqlal's victory in the parliamentary elections on September 7.
Her government was appointed by Fae I on October 15, with 33 members (not including Nasri), including seven women. Four political parties were included in this government: Istiqlal, the Socialist Union of Popular Forces (SUPF), the National Rally of Independents (NRI), and the Party of Progress and Socialism (PPS).
