On the 3rd of June 2011 an agreement was been made with the Newolland government and with the assistance of the other OBN nations, two Battalions of Royal Cleveland Territorial Army (Royal Electrical and Mechanical Engineers (REME) and the Blues and Royals - approximately 600 troops) have been stationed on the south side of the River Humber in former North Lincolnshire, they will assist the repair teams from Cleveland Railway working on the connecting rail lines between Cleveland and Newolland. The operation has been given the code name Operation Hearts and Minds

They will also assist in any repairs to road and foot bridges in the area as well as setting up diplomatic links between the OBN and the locals.

Three patrol boats from the Royal Cleveland Navy (RCN) have been temporarily transferred to the Humber to assist with exploration of the Humber coastline and any other navigable rivers in the area. Each patrol boat will carry 25 Durham Light Infantry troops.

After discussions with the government of Newolland (who claims the area) any areas suitable for hydro-electric plants and places for wind turbines will be surveyed and after reporting to the government of Newolland will be constructed and connected to a new electrical grid.

The assimilation project began on the 17th June 2011 and was to all intents and purposes complete by 7th July 2011

The Beginning of the Assimilation

17th June 2011

Cleveish troops have set up a base of operation in the abandoned town of Barton-upon-Humber, they have decided to travel along the former main roads as many appear to be in reasonable condition.

400 men will travel along the A15 and then split into two groups of 200, with Team one going east along the A180 and Team two west along the M180. Each group consists of 150 Blues and Royals and a contingent of 50 REME.

RCN 3 from the RCN has traveled downstream along the Humber and has entered the port of Grimsby, finding the locals friendly but they are incredibly locally centred, they having no knowledge of the outside world.

Due to militant raids in the years following doomsday the port town had effectively cut themselves off from the marauders by destroying local roads and bridges. The RCN personnel have informed them of the existence of the OBN and Kingdoms of Cleveland to the north and the nation of Newolland to the south and the plan to link them using railways and the fact that Cleveish troops will be arriving shortly to rebuild bridges and other local infrastructure.

As an act of goodwill they give the townsfolk two wind generators which can produce enough electricity for 800 homes.

On the same day Team three a battalion (300 troops) of the RCTA Regiment of the Royal Green Jackets arrives in the Cleveish town of Goole in East Yorkshire, They prepare to move into North Lincolnshire following the railway line southwards towards the town of Thorne, they then plan to investigate the city of Doncaster for one week and then continue heading south and investigate the towns of Retford and Worksop before heading east towards the city of Lincoln.

19th June 2011

Team one whilst heading east along the A180 have entered the fortified town of Immingham after talks with the leaders of the town they have donated and installed a small wind generator for the 270 houses in the town. They have moved on and are heading for the port town of Grimsby expecting to arrive on the 20st June.

Team two who are heading west have reached the River Ancholme at the town of Brigg, the two main bridges across the river had been damaged and partially collapsed in a flood in 1997, the Cleveish troops have offered to rebuild the bridge in the centre of Brigg. They have also open negotiations with the leaders of the town of Scunthorpe in regards to trade links with OBN nations and travel through the surrounding area.

Two RCN patrol boats (RCN 1 and 2) have entered the River Trent and have begun exploring upstream they have set a base in the town of Burton upon Strather until negotiation with the town of Scunthorpe have been completed. Its plan is to travel upstream as far as possible with the hope of reaching the town of Gainsborough and possibly as far south as the bombed city of Nottingham.

20th June 2011

Team one has arrived in the port town of Grimsby, it is hoped that the two wind turbines donated to the town will be up and running by the end of the week.

The discussions between the leaders of Scunthorpe and the commander of Team two have advanced to the point that the entire team has been invited into the town for further discussions with th leadership RCN 1 and 2 have also been allowed to pass Scunthorpe and head further up the River Trent.

Team Three has arrived in the northern outskirts of Doncaster, although the city was not hit by any nuclear weapons on Doomsday it appears totally abandoned.

The team has contacted some remaining locals, who tell them that after Doomsday radiation came from the air and from the River Don that flows from Sheffield (which was nuked) directly through the centre of Doncaster, roughly half the population died or left the area within the first six months after Doomsday.

After the radiation there were two epidemics one with flu-like symtoms over the winter of 1983-84 which killed over 10,000 and another during the summer of 1986 which was more than likely Cholera which killed over 20,000.

By the late 1990's much of the city had been abandoned, with the population of the entire former city at less than 15,000, then in late 1995 there was a massive flood down the Don Valley. This carried massive levels of radiation from Sheffield and destroyed the city centre. Another major flood occured in 2007, after which many remaining residents headed east hoping to find civilisation.

21st June 2011

RCN 1 and 2 have continued southwards traveling upstream on the River Trent, they passed Scunthorpe early in the morning and had reached the northern outskirts of town of Gainsborough by late evening, the teams have set up base on the outskirts and hope to contact the townsfolk on the 22nd.

RCN 3 returned to Cleveish base at Barton-upon-Humber early on the morning of the 21st June, it picks up 50 REME troops and returns to Grimsby to continue the rebuilding of the town.

Team one has left the town of Grimsby after the arrival of the REME troops brought by RCN 3 they are heading for the Mablethorpe along the Lincolnshire coastline.

Team two has continued with the trade negotiations with the leaders of Scunthorpe, so far the negotiations are going well, the Cleveish troops have offered to install five wind generators and a hydro-electric plant on the nearby River Trent, the installation of the wind generators is expect to take two weeks and will provide power to 900 homes and the centre of town, and after RCN 3 brings another 50 REME from the Cleveish base at Barton-upon-Humber on the 23rd of June, work will begin on the hydo-electric plant, with work expected to be completed by the end of July. The hydro plant will provide power to additional 1500 houses when completed.

The leaders of Scunthorpe have also asked to be connected to the Cleveish Railway system as soon as possible, and after briefly surveying the remaining existing line to Grimsby on the way to Scunthorpe the REME troops think that they could reconnect the town by the end of the summer. The connection has been given high priority by the Cleveish government.

Team three has continued its exploration of the abandoned city of Doncaster the exploration is expected to take roughly a week.

22nd June 2011

RCN 1 and 2 have made contact with the residents of the town of Gainsborough, the town has a small population of only 4000 but has port facility despite being far inland. The Cleveish troops have agreed to use the port for further exploration of the River Trent in return the troops have agreed to install two wind generators that will provide power for 700 homes and in the next month a new team will arrive to install a hydro electric plant on the Trent.

RCN 3 has returned to the Cleveish base at Barton-upon-Humber, to pick up 50 REME troops and will transport them to Scunthorpe on the 23rd of June.

Team one has arrived in the town of Mablethorpe and has set up a wind generator to produce power for the entire town.

Team Two has split into two teams, one team of 100 men, including 25 REME will move south from Scunthorpe once the new team has arrive from Barton tomorrow. The other half will remain in Scunthorpe to assist rebuilding.

Agreements have been made with the leaders of Scunthorpe to become part of the nation of Newolland after a vote by residents in the town and surrounding countryside, the land that the leadership of Scunthorpe have control over are between the Rivers Trent (West), Humber (North) and Ancholme (East) and the A631 (South) they have decided to call the referendum on July 5th with the results known by the 7th July.

The Kingdoms of Northumbria and Cleveland will sent electoral teams to help set up the vote.

Team three are continuing there exploration of Doncaster.

23rd June 2011

RCN 1 and 2 Will continue working with the town of Gainsborough throughout today and tomorrow and will leave on the 25th.

RCN 3 Has arrived in Scunthorpe with a further 50 REME troops, they will stay overnight and then return to Barton-upon-Humber on the 24th of June.

Team one Has left Mablethorpe to travel towards Skegness, they are expected to arrive in Skegness by the 24th June.

Team two The now smaller team has left Scunthorpe and have begun traveling south down the Roman Ermine Street (A15) towards the city of Lincoln, they are expected to arrive by the 27th June.

Team three The exploration of Doncaster is progressing faster than expected, exploration should be finished by the 25th June after which the plans are to head south along the Great North Road to investigate the towns of Worksop and Retford.

24th June 2011

RCN 1 and 2 will remain Gainsborough today and travel upstream tomorrow hoping to reach the town of Newark-upon-Trent by the 27th June.

RCN 3 have returned to Barton-upon-Humber base they are currently resupplying before heading to Skegness tomorrow.

Team one have reached the town of Chapel St Leonards and are expecting to reach Skegness tomorrow.

Team two have reached the abandoned town of West Firsby, the progress has been quicker due to an apparently maintained road system in the area. They now expect to reach Lincoln on the 26th June rather than the 27th June.

Team three have concluded their exploration of Doncaster and are resting overnight before heading south towards Retford and Worksop.

25th June 2011

RCN 1 and 2 have reached the twin towns of Dunham and Newton-on-Trent, they have learned from locals that Newark-upon-Trent has bad people living there. They would not go into further detail, however this reaction from townsfolk has made the commander hold off investigating the area until more details are known. They will hold in the are until Team two arrives after they have explored the towns of Worksop and Retford.

RCN 3 has arrived in Skegness with 50 REME troops to assist Team one who also arrived today in the town.

Team one arrived in Skegness less than an hour before RCN 3 arrived with a further 50 REME troops, this did cause a small diplomatic incident as the leadership of the town believed there was a military invasion underway from a nation inland from the town, after talking to locals they know little of the inland of Lincolnshire, all the locals would say is that they don't trade there.

Team two After radio contact from both Team one and RCN 1 and 3 about locals warnings about a nation of so called bad people near there location. They have decided to hold at the abandoned town of West Firsby, they will rest there until the 28th of June.

Team three after radio reports from the other teams Team three have begun heading for the town of Worksop. They will give both Worksop and Retford quick exploration and then will split into two teams of 150 men.

Half will meet with RCN 1 and 2 and then travel onto Newark-upon-Trent, and the other half will march overnight to meet with Team two on the 28th June, before moving towards Lincoln.

26th June 2011

RCN 1 and 2 have remained in Dunham and Newton-on-Trent until Team two can meet them before moving on to Newark-upon-Trent

RCN 3 has remained in Skegness to assist in repair work to rail lines in the area.

Team one is also in Skegness assisting in repair work

Team two is holding and resting in the abandoned town of West Firsby overnight and will then move west to meet RCN 1 and 2 in the twin towns of Dunham and Newton-on-Trent, they will then travel south to the town of Newark-upon-Trent on the 28th.

Team three has arrived in the town of Worksop, it is heavily defended, it has large wall surrounding the town centre and large ditch network linking to the River Ryton. The entire south side of the river has been abandoned and burnt. After two attempts to contact the locals contact is made by a mortar being fired over the wall into the Cleveish troops injuring three troopers.

The Cleveish commander hastily produced a white flag and this seems to get the locals attention and they send a team of four representatives out through the east gate of the town. After explaining the current situation in the former UK and the troops exploration of the local area the townsfolk invite the Cleveish troops into the town, they find it as pre-industrial level of technology.

The locals also explain why they are so heavily defended, shortly after DD they suffered heavy attacks from marauders, then by the mid 1990's they started being attacked by contingents from the True British Army and then by the early 2000's they began being attacked by an unknown force from the east. The wall had been built to protect from attack from the True British Army.

REME troops offer wind generators and the possibility of a hydro plant on the River Ryton as well as repairing the local water and sewage system. The local leaders gratefully accept the offer and say that messengers will be sent to their twin town in Retford to receive the troops in a more friendly manner.

10 REME troops will be left in Worksop to repair the water and sewage system and then they will move to Retford to do the same. The rest of the troops will move out a daybreak towards the town of Retford.

27th June 2011

RCN 1 and 2 have remained in Dunham and Newton-on-Trent waiting for Team two

RCN 3 have remained in Skegness

Team one have remained in Skegness

Team two have moved west to meet RCN 1 and 2 in Newton and Dunham-on-Trent

Team three have left Worksop and arrived in Retford, due to the advanced warning their welcome is far friendlier than their reception at Worksop. They have left 50 men (including 10 REME troops) to work with the locals in rebuilding the area.

The remainder of the troops (280 troopers) have started moving south east, down the old A1 road, towards the town of Newark-upon-Trent, it is hoped that Team two and three and RCN 1 and 2 will arrive in the area on the 28th of June.

300 more REME troops have arrived in Barton-upon-Humber to begin work on the rail line between Barton and Grimsby and from the Grimsby line to Scunthorpe and Gainsborough with the possibility of extending it to Retford and Worksop at a later date.

28th June 2011

RCN 1 and 2 and Team two have met up in the twin towns of Dunham and Newton-on-Trent they will remain there overnight and tomorrow move towards the town of Newark-upon-Trent.

RCN 3 have returned to Barton-upon-Humber to pick up 50 REME troops and returned then to Mablethorpe to begin work on the newly named Lincolnshire coastal railway (LCR)

Team one has begun working on the LCR between Skegness and Mablethorpe.

Team three has begun to move towards the town of Newark-upon-Trent they have been leasing with RCN 1 and 2 and Team two so that they arrive in the town at the same time.

29th June 2011

RCN 1 and 2, Teams two and three arrived in Newark-upon-Trent at midday, they were met outside the town by 500 men who attacked them without provocation, the Cleveish troops took several casualties before returning fire, killing several of the assailants and capturing half a dozen. After interrogation they reveal that they thought that the Cleveish troops were Soviets invading the area. As soon as they realise thet they are talking to 'British' and not 'Soviet' soldiers they stop talking and refuse to answer any more questions, the captured troops are transported by RCN 1 to Barton-upon-Humber base before being transported to Newolland on the 30th June. The remaining Cleveish troops have set up base outside Newark-upon-Trent

RCN 3 has moved 50 REME troops from Barton-on-Humber to the town of Saltfleetby St Clements they will move inland and start work on the LCR.

Team one are continuing work on the new LCR.

30th June 2011

RCN 1 and 2, Team two and three have remained on the outskirts of Newark-upon-Trent, awaiting orders from the governments of Newolland and Cleveland, captured troops from the town have been moved to the Newolland town of Spalding for further questioning.

RCN 3 have moved another 50 REME troops to Chapel St Leonards to work on the LCR link between the towns of Skegness and Mablethorpe.

Team one are continuing work on the LCR between Skegness and Boston.

Discovery of a new nation

1st July 2011

RCN 1 have returned to Gainsborough before moving back to Barton-upon-Humber for resupplying and to pick up more troops if needed.

RCN 2 has remained with Teams two and three on the outskirts of Newark-upon-Trent.

Team one is continuing work on the LCR.

Teams two and three have advanced on the town of Newark-upon-Trent. After seeing the attack on the 29th June the residents and defenders of the town surrendered rather than be place under a further attack.

The Cleveish troops explain who they are, where they are from and what they are doing in the area the residents of the town are happy to see that nations survived DD and are retaking the county piece by piece, the defenders however as less welcoming, locals tell them that they arrived two years ago from a nation to the east called the Democratic Republic of Lindsey, locally shortened to the Republic.

From information gained from locals and from some of the Republic defenders that are willing to talk a few things have been learned about the Democratic Republic of Lindsey.

  • Although it states that it is a republic, it is effectively several independent townships who signed a mutual trade agreement in 1999. Each township has significant independence from each other.
  • The Republic is truly democratic nation with all public positions (and even some private positions) elected.
  • They have a small Army in relation to other OBN nations (around 5000 men)
  • They have a population of roughly 75,000
  • They are based in the towns of Newark-upon-Trent, Market Rasen, Horncastle, Louth, (the largest town in the area and de-facto Capital City) and the City of Lincoln (Ceremonial Capital, however due to radiation levels very few people live there).

Surprisingly, when the Cleveish troops are invited into Newark-upon-Trent town hall they find a picture of the former British PM Thatcher taking pride of place above the main council chamber.

After talking to the more responsive members of the Republic defenders it appears that former PM Thatcher has become the focus heroine worship in the Republic almost to the point of giving her god like qualities, some believe she will one day return and reunite the British Isles as a new United Kingdom, this is very similar to the legend of King Arthur.

They follow a version of Thatcherism:

  • The promotion of low inflation - by trade deals between townships, the government also does not allow trade with other nations in the area.
  • The tight control of the money supply.
  • Firm control over public expenditure.
  • The return to 'Victorian values' (of the Samuel Smiles variety).
  • Privatization of as many government agencies as possible.
  • Constraints on the labour movement - including the abolition of all trade unions. *They are also staunchly Anti-Communist.

The Republic defenders are delighted to discover form the Cleveish troops that two of the former Queen Elizabeth's children survived DD and became Monarchs of their own nations.

They are not that happy about the nation of Newollands plans for the area that is now covered by the Republic

2nd July 2011

RCN 1 has traveled on to Spalding to pick up a team of Newolland diplomatic staff, they expect to be back in Newark-upon-Trent by the 3rd of July.

RCN 2 have remained in Newark-upon-Trent

RCN 3 has returned to Cleveland to pass on information about what is needed to set up the LCR, including bridges that need building and the need to bring machinary to dig railway cuttings in places

Team one continuing work either side of Skegness on the LCR

Team two and three are continuing talks with the residents of Newark-upon-Trent to try and glean any further information on the Democratic Republic of Lindsey.

They have held talks with the Commander of the Republics defenders, it is decided that a group of 50 Cleveish troops (25 will be REME troops) and Newolland Diplomats will travel to the Ceremonial Capital of Lincoln to meet with the leadership of the Democratic Republic of Lindsey on the 5th July, the remainder of the Cleveish troops will leave the area.

Team two will head towards the nuked city of Nottingham.

Team three will head towards the town of Grantham and then on towards the town of Sleaford before moving to Boston.

3rd July 2011

RCN 1 are returning from Spalding with a contingent of 10 Newolland diplomats due to unexpectedly bad weather in the North Sea they expect to arrive back in Newark-upon-Trent by the 4th July.

RCN 2 will remain in Newark-upon-Trent until RCN 1 returns and then they will move upstream towards the nuked city of Nottingham.

RCN 3 will remain in Cleveland and will play no further part in the Lincolnshire Assimilation Project.

Team one are continuing work on the LCR

Team two are heading towards the nuked city of Nottingham, they expect to arrive on the 5th July.

Team three are heading towards the town of Grantham, they expect to arrive on the 4th July

4th July 2011

RCN 1 Has arrived in Newark-upon-Trent and delivered the 10 Newolland diplomats, they have met up with the commander of the Cleveish troops and the leader of the Republic defenders and will move towards Lincoln tomorrow. RCN 1 will join RCN 2 and travel upstream to the nuked city of Nottingham tomorrow.

RCN 2 will travel with RCN 1 to the nuked city of Nottingham tomorrow.

Team one has moved to the town of Boston to continue work on the LCR. After radio contact with Team three a division of 100 men will move towards the town of Sleaford tomorrow to discuss a possible referendum about joining Newolland, it is expected that they will hold it on the same day as the town of Grantham.

Team two will arrive in Nottingham tomorrow along with RCN 1 and 2

Team three have arrived in the town of Grantham, the locals are already aware of the nation of Newolland to the south and agree to hold a referendum about joining Newolland on the 22nd July, though the leadership of the town believes that a referendum is unnecessary as everyone will vote to join Newolland.

The leadership of Grantham have trade agreements with the nearby towns of Sleaford and Melton Mowbray, they have stated that it is more than likely that both these towns will also be willing to join with Newolland at the earliest opportunity. Contact has been made with Team one and they are sending a division to Sleaford tomorrow.

Team three will move on towards the town of Melton Mowbray tomorrow.

5th July 2011

Scunthorpe and the surrounding area has held it's referendum on joining the nation of Newolland, results will be known on the 7th July.

RCN 1 and 2 have traveled upstream on the River Trent to the outskirts of the bombed city of Nottingham

Team one reached the town of Boston late last night, the resident there have heard from the town of Grantham and were expecting the team, they were warmly welcomed, the leadership have announced that they intend to hold a referendum on becoming part of Newolland on the same day as Grantham on the 22nd July.

Team one is now working on the line from Boston to Skegness, the only section left to complete is from Boston to Sibsey. It is hoped that the line will be completed by the end of July however it will not become operational until the line from Grimsby is completed which will be by the end of the year

100 men from Team one have headed towards the town of Sleaford, 25 men from Boston have traveled with them, they expect to be there tomorrow.

Team two have reached the edge of the bombed city of Nottingham, they expect to meet up with RCN 1 and 2 tonight and begin the exploration of the city tomorrow.

Team three reached the town of Melton Mowbray at mid morning, they were expected after traders came from Grantham overnight, due to the trade agreements with Grantham the town leadership agree to hold a referendum on the 22nd July, they are of the same opinion as the leadership of Grantham that the referendum is unnecessary,

The delegation of Cleveish troops and Newolland diplomats have reached the city of Lincoln, although the main city centre appears only slightly damaged, the suburbs however appear to be abandoned due to the amount of overgrowth. The entire south of the city (south of the River Witham) appears to have either burnt on DD or shortly after, a new city wall appeared to have been built from demolished buildings.

They are greeted by the leadership of the Democratic Republic of Lindsey in Lincoln Castles great Cobb hall. Due to the time that they arrive they are given a state meal before being given rooms in the Castle. They are due to begin negotiations tomorrow.

6th July 2011

RCN 1, 2 and Team two have completed their exploration of the bombed city of Nottingham, they started by exploring the south of the River Trent, they find it seriously damaged and abandoned, once they move to the north of the river they quickly find the detonation point of the bomb, it appeared to have detonated almost directly over Nottingham railway station, it could be identified by the large amount of twisted railway lines in the area, the remains of a partly melted diesel locomotive and very little else.

The buildings in the area surrounding the former station had been flattened to the ground out to a quarter mile, stunted vegetation started occurring from 300 yards outwards, the majority of the city appeared to have been burnt at, or shortly after DD.

The outskirts had become totally overgrown in the years since DD, throughout the entirety of the exploration no signs of modern habitation were found.

Now that the exploration of Nottingham is complete Team two is making its way towards Melton Mowbray RCN 1 and 2 are returning to Barton-upon-Humber to assist in the building of the LCR.

Team one is continuing work on the LCR

Team three are to remain in Melton Mowbray until they can meet up with Team two both teams will rest and recuperate in the town.

A deal has been made with other OBN nations of Essex and Woodbridge to jointly attack the TBA base at Rutland Water, it is expected to take place in late August.

As well as Team two and three a further 1500 troops taken from the Royal Cleveland Territorial Army (RCTA) Regiments of the Royal Green Jackets, the Dragoon Guards and the Queens Own Hussars, as well as 250 full time Marines are due to arrive in Skegness in early August.

7th July: End of the main assimilation project

RCN 1 and 2 has arrived in Barton-upon-Humber they will resupply and then take up position in Skegness, in mid August they will then transport the extra troops from transport vessels to shore for the attack on Rutland Water. Until then they will assist in the building the LCR.

Team one is continuing work on the LCR.

Team two has arrived in Melton Mowbray and will rest the area until the attack on Rutland Water in August

Team three is also in Melton Mowbray waiting for the attack on Rutland water.

Scunthorpe referendum on joining the nation of Newolland

The results of the referendum in Scunthorpe and its surrounding area that was undertaken on the 5th July have been announced. The results are as follows:

  • Yes - 8,743
  • No - 7,912

The results are close however the vote has returned as a Yes vote. Newolland will shortly announce the schedule of assimilation.

After the vote in Scunthorpe it's largest and nearest trading partner, the town of Gainsborough has also said today that it would like to also become part of Newolland at the same time as Scunthorpe.

Worksop and Retford

After their neighbouring trading towns of Scunthorpe and Gainsborough deciding to become part of the nation of Newolland the townships of Worksop and Retford have also decided to ask to join Newolland at the same time as Scunthorpe and Gainsborough.

Lincolnshire Coastal Railway (LCR)

The Lincolnshire Coastal Railway company was established in Cleveland in early 2011, with the Lincolnshire Assimilation Project the Clevelander Army began renovating lines along the coastal edge of Lincolnshire from the Humber Bridge in the north to Boston in the south.

The section between Skegness and Mablethorpe was completed on the 7th August 2011.

The line from Grimsby to Mablethorpe has reached as far south as the village of Conisholme and the bridge across the Saltfleet has been completed and as of the 8th of August is ready for the line to be laid, which happened on the 18th August the same day that Melton Mowbray, Gratham, Sleaford and Boston joined Newolland.

A new section will need to be built between Grimsby and Skegness and is expected to be completed by late August 2011. It was the intention that at the point of completetion the ownership and the running of the railway line would revert to the government of Newolland, however after discussions with the government of Newolland the day to day running of the line and any maintinance works will be undertaken by Albion Railways Ltd, a Cleveland based group. The ownership of the line itself will remain with Newolland, this deal lasts five years after which it is expected that Newolland will take total control of the line.

The ceramonial connection of the LCR took place on the 25th August, in a field near the village of Hogsthorpe.

On that day a train left Middlesbrough carrying Queen Zara and a train left Boston carrying King William. They met at the joining point where a temporary crossing point had been built, the trains stopped, the Monarchs traded gifts with their opposite number and then each monarch returned to their trains and continued onto their opposite nation to carry out a short tour.

Expected branchlines

The railway line between Habrough (on the main LCR) and Scunthorpe was fully renovated by late August 2011.

By the 3rd August 2011 the line has been renovated up to the junction by the village of Barnetby, a branch line will be completed to the town of Brigg at the same time at the line ot Scunthorpe.

This branchline was extended to Gainsborough by the 19th September 2011, to Retford by the 6th of October, and to Worksop by the 29th October. This will also have side branches linking to the three newly reopened coal mines in the area, those being Shireoaks (opened 22nd November 2011), Manton (opened 13th December 2011), and Steetley (opened 28th December 2011).

Another railway line between Boston and Gratham, via Sleaford will be renovated in 2012. It will be extended to Melton Mowbray in 2013.

Referendum results in for Sleaford, Melton Mowbray, Grantham and Boston

The votes from the referendum on the 22nd July have been counted the results are as follows:

All four townships have voted to join Newolland ,they have jointly announced that they would like to join by the end of the year.

1st August 2011

The leaders of the towns of Grimsby, Cleethorpes, Spilsby and Skegness have approached the leadership of Newolland with their plans to join with Newolland, they have asked if a referendum will be needed and the Newolland government has said it will not be.

The Newolland government has stated that Grimsby and Cleethorpes will join the same time as Scunthorpe on the 29th September 2011 and Skegness and Spilsby will join on the 4th October 2011.

1st December 2011

All Cleveish troops have been withdrawn from the area covered by the Lincolnshire assimilation project, handing all military control over to the Newolland Military.
