Previous: Britain answers the Confederate's plea!
Lincoln decides that in order to preserve the Union he needs to stop fleeing slaves from the south going in to Canada so Union armies can attack oncoming Canadian forces. The Union establishes a border control to stop runaways from going into Canada and relocating them into a safe state for them. When news of this act gets to Underground railroad leader Harriet Tubman, she is surprised and makes a meeting with president Lincoln. He explains his reasoning for stopping her efforts and gives her a new location where she and fellow former slaves can stay.
Meanwhile in Russia, Alexander II is negotiating a deal with the Union. He'll help them out in there little war if they'll give them the Idaho and Montana territories.
President Lincoln had two decisions two make. Either give him what they want and receive their help or refuse his proposal and get some other country to help them.
So what does Abraham Lincoln do?
- Accept Alexander's proposal.
