The Lieutenant-Governor of the Province of El Salvador is the Head of State of the U.C.C.A. Province of El Salvador. The lieutenant-governor is the head of the executive branch of El Salvador's provincial government and the commander-in-chief of the province's military and naval forces. The current lieutenant-governor is Gerardo Barrios, a Liberal. Barrios was previously the President of El Salvador before the creation of the United Confederation of Central America and was sworn in as the 1st lieutenant-governor of the province of El Salvador on April 8th, 1866.
