Lyon Sprague de Camp was an author of science fiction and fantasy, born in New York City in 1907. After the arrival of the Zheronians, De Camp wrote dystopic science fiction with governments based on the Axis powers.

In 1953, de Camp emigrated from his home in the Reich-controlled United States to Pluto, a common destination for dissident authors. There, de Camp became part of the "Big Three" of dissident authors by the 1970's, along with Harry Turtledove and Philip K. Dick.
