The Korean Crisis began in early 2013 when Kim Jong-un confirmed a state of war between North and South Korea. It began as a "War of Words" but escalated quickly in June when North Korean MiG jets bombed fortifications and other targets along the DMZ (Dimilitarized Zone). South Korea insisted on launching a revenge offensive in August but failied only managing to take a mile of land. The United States and Japan began "Operation Hellfire" in September which involved over 1,300 different aircraft of all types flying roughly 11 sorties each on key military targets and instalations.
