This is a "computer market" TL rather than a political one.

When the IBM Personal Computer was about to come out, the company first went to Microsoft for a request for having it become the OS of its computer. Microsoft at first refused and recommended Digital Research for the deal. However, its CEO was unable to see the importance of having a revolutionary computer run his OS. He refused and IBM went back to Microsoft for making their OS, DOS, the operating system of their computer. Microsoft accepted and the groundwork of the power of Microsoft was created. Their dominance of the computer market began with the deal, and it is because of the deal that I am writing this TL with a Windows PC. However, what if Kildall realized the potential of such a deal. What if Kildall Accepts?
