Kievan Victory is a timeline in which the Mongol invasion of Rus' fails, due to the Battle of the Kalka River in 1223 being a Slavic victory.
Points of Divergence
There are several, ultimately, but the main one is:
- During the Battle at Kalka River, the army of Mstislav the Bold does not attack the Mongols alone, but waits for the arrival of reinforcements with Mstislav III. This results in the combined force routing the Mongols, and no more attempts at invading Rus' by them. As a result, the long Mongol rule of Russia never occurred.
