Biology and Appearance
The Khrysantians are a sentient humanoid species. They are bipedal beings with a bilateral symmetry. Their body comprises a head, neck, torso and four limbs. The upper limbs, called arms, ended in hands which had five fingers each; the lower ones, called legs, ended in feet with also five digits. Finally, they had one head perched atop a torso. They have only a light covering of body hair. Most of it was concentrated on the head and, in the case of adult males, face. Khrysantians are endotherms or warm-blooded animals. While some mistakenly described themselves as carnivores, Khrysantians are omnivores, subsisting on both animal tissue and plant-based foods. As was common to many humanoid species, Khrysantians have two sexes: male and female. They are very tall to the Intergalactic standard norms, with average males being 4 meters and average females being 3.80 meters tall. They are also muscular and very strong, being able to lift up to 2 tons. They evolved from primates and grew tall and muscled due to the higher gravity on Khrysantania, but this isn't actually that high considering it is 1.1 times the gravity of Earth, there may be other reasons behind this. Khrysantians are capable of producing offspring with humans, their offspring are fertile. Khrysantians are rarely Force-sensitive, those who are Force-sensitive are usually very strong with it.
Solarians are sexually-reproduced animals, requiring the mating of an opposite sex couple to produce offspring. While developing in their mother's womb, the child gave her a distinctive "baby bump" accompanied by a significant weight gain. Being mammals, the Khrysantian females gave birth to live young, either one or several at a time. Two children born at the same birth were referred to as twins, and three as triplets. The delivery itself normally took place after nine months of pregnancy. It was a painful process that could take as much as ten hours. In some circumstances, women could die during childbirth, although it rarely happened on worlds that had top-flight medical technologies. During their first months of existence, Khrysantians babies were usually fed with milk from their mother's body.
Khrysantians life on average 100 years, which is considered quite standard in the universe. Natural signs of aging included the whitening or fall of the hair, the loss of teeth, appearance of deep lines, wrinkles and dark blemishes on the skin. Old Khrysantians would experience a decline in many cognitive processes, frequently losing track of time, misidentifying people or places, and, in extreme cases, momentarily forgetting about their own identity or state.
Society and Culture
The Khrysantians are a quite aggressive species, originally being a disorganized society where warriors were the leaders. They were once patriarchal, though this has been long abolished. Both men and women have fought in conflicts. Khrysantians are a species who greatly value display of strength, bravery and fighting prowess. Though they may appear very aggressive or scary, they are quite friendly when not angered and are known for their good sense of humor. They were originally an isolationist people, not allowing any outsider to migrate to the planet. However, outsiders who proved they were strong and worthy enough were respected and allowed to stay, this could be proven by some challenges such as defeating a Khrysantian in battle. They enjoy friendly sparring matches, but occasionally wounded smaller species unintentionally. Khrysantians are ruled by an elective oligarchy, headed by five Aresians, who are elected by the people and hold absolute power. Children are respected and protected by the people. A young child spends his or her life mostly playing and making friends, when reaching six years of age children were required to go to school to study various subjects such as math, history, language and quite strangely also battle strategies, warfare and combat. When they reached 10 years they received 2 hours a day training in physics by exercise and sparring. When 14 years old, teenagers have to go to high school, where they continue to learn primary subjects, but may follow other subjects which they can freely choose. When they reach the age of 20, they are considered adults and may find a job. Tertiary education is optional, students who choose to attend university are usually more intelligent and find jobs that have more to do with using your mind. Warriors and particularly the strong ones were greatly were greatly respected, today the strongest warriors in fighting matches are respected and almost worshiped. Women have enjoyed equal rights since some thousands of years ago, though there are still gender stereotypes such as that men are the protectors and leaders. The entire planet is covered by one big city, there are many floating islands where there are open public spaces to make up for the enormous population density. Families are very close and good friends are regarded as part of the family. A very important trait for the Khrysantians is fidelity, spouses that cheat receive a severe punishment. Forced marriage is illegal and couples may ask for a divorce at any time. Rape is punishable by death for both genders. Khrysantians are difficult to befriend by foreigners, but if they do succeed, Khrysantians are one of the most loyal friends, standing with their fellow friends until death. Last names are legally required to "merge" when a child is born to a mother and a father. If a child's parents' last names are Ventan and Herales it would become something like Venales or Herentan.
