The Khazar Invasion was a war between 678 and 680 in the Kingdom of Iberia. The War was the direct cause of the Religious Crisis of the VIII Century together with the Pagan Revival, after the arrival of Judaism to the Middle East. In politics, it led to the strengthening of the Khazar Empire after its conquest of Iberia (added as an autonomous duchy). In religion and culture, it accounted for a rise of Judaism in the Middle East (including Iberia, which strengthened the Jewish minority who now numbers over a third of Georgia's current population, though it hasn't ever become the majority religion contrary to popular belief). Georgia continued as a part of Khazaria until in part the War of Colchis and in part the crumbling of the Khazar Empire in the early IX Century.
