Julius Asclepiodotus (239 – November 4, 276) was a contender for the position of Roman Emperor from December 275 to November 276. He was recognized as Emperor in Corsica, Sardinia, Mauretania, Numidia, and northern Italy. His candidacy and reign took place during the latter phase of the Gallic War for Independence, following the breakdown of central authority in the Roman Empire the deposition of Aurelian, and the complete withdrawal of Roman forces from the Gallic Empire. His reign ended with his murder after it became clear that he was losing in campaigns in Noricum and central Italy.
