Joseph Stalin (Georgian:იოსებ ბესარიონის ძე სტალინი; Russian:Иосиф Виссарионович Сталин) (1878/12/18 - 1953/3/5) was a Premier of the Soviet Union from 1941 to 1953. He brought the Orange Revolution to Russia in 1917 and then from 1922 until 1953 led the General Secretary of the Communist Party of the Soviet Union's Central Committee. During his rule, he had sent millions of people to labour camps, crushed millions of people in the Great Purge who were opposed to his regime, and some others.
Other acts he was notable for included the signing of a non-aggression pact with Fascist Germany (Molotov–Ribbentrop Pact) in 1939 to divide their influences in Eastern Europe. Though soon, Germany had violated the treaty and begun invading the Soviet Union in 1941, in which made Stalin furious. He sent millions of troops and lots of fighting power against the Germans and by 1945, he achieved victory by making it to Berlin first. After the war, he went to the Yalta Conference and Potsdam Conference to split up post-war Europe. He also had established good relations with Mao Zedong's China and Kim Il Sung's North Korea as well.
Despite him being leader of the Soviet Union and all, it has been though by many that he was Russian, but in fact his original nationality is Georgian (the country) as he was born in Gori, Tiflis Governorate (modern day Georgia), Russian Empire. So, while he was born in Russia, he was actually Georgian.
