Jefferson Davis decides that they need to hire an assassin to kill Lincoln but who should their hire? Lucky for them that John Wilkes Booth walked in and requested a meeting with the Confederate president. He tells of a plot to kidnap Lincoln, at Ford's theater Booth will tie Lincoln up in a burlap sack, carry him off into a carriage, drive him down to Richmond, and demand ransom for him. Jefferson loves this idea but his cabinet demands that they get Booth to scrap kidnapping Lincoln and to get him to kill that yankee president.
But what does Jefferson do?
- Go with Booth's idea. We can't risk upsetting the Union with assassination.
- Your're right. Booth, you need to scrap that kidnapping plan!
