In 1922, the fascists staged a "March on Rome" to impose their leader (Mussolini) as prime minister. Ever since that time, Italy has expended his territory. With the annexion of the kingdom of Albania, the King took the title of emperor.

Composed of the Kingdom of Italy, as well as the colonies of Italian East Africa (Somaliland, Ethiopia & Abyssinia), Libya (Tripolitania & Cyrenaica) and Tunisia. Enjoying some limited level of autonomy are the protectorates of Albania, Croatia, the Dodecanese Islands and Montenegro.
