Italian East Africa is an Italian colony first established in 1916 by the Kingdom of Italy via the merger of Italian Eritrea, Somaliland, and newly-conquered French Somaliland during the First World War. It was expanded to include Abyssinia and Kenya when they were conquered during the Fascist era in 1935 and 1941 respectively.
Italian East Africa hosts an Italian population of 600 thousand.
