Ottoman Rule and the Balfour Declaration
The Republic of Israel-Palestine can trace it's lineage to the Roman province of Judea and the various Ottoman districts that were enforced until the nation's independence in 1947, after the Balfour Declaration. The Declaration guaranteed the existence of a state of the Jewish people by 1950, with the end of the Balkan Wars in 1922, plans were drafted between the British Empire and the Ottomans for the division of Palestine into Jewish and Arab states, although the idea was eventually thrown out and replaced with a confederation of both Arab Palestinians and Jews.
