Formaly known as "International Zones" or sometime "Open Cities", Interzones are territory that are populated (usualy a port city) but is not under the jurisdiction of any nations. Most are disputed lands where in a plebiscite local inhabitants chose independence instead of joining one side or the other. Apart from the economical aspect (any ships may call in on its port), an Interzone sees its independence ensured by the League as a whole.
The territory is ultimately governed by an administrator named by the League although he is advised by a council elected by those who can prove at least a year in residence.
Note that peoples born in Interzones automaticaly obtain their parents' citizenship. If this is impossible for any reason, the person will be granted a Nanson Passport
