IL Resolution 0003, Declaring Antarctica a Neutral Area

This bill seeks to make all areas of the continent of Antarctica a completely neutral area, with no state being able to lay claim to any part of the continent. This includes only land on mainland Antarctica, with the outlying islands being able to be claimed by states. Noting the slightly increased human presence in Antarctica, and wishing to prevent the conflicts of man from ravaging the previously untouched 7th continent, the Soviet Union proposes that Antarctica be placed under the jurisdiction of the United Nations, and that military forces of all types except for UN Peace Keepers be banned from Antarctica.

  • Filed by:
  • Open to: Security Council and General Assembly.

IL Resolution #0005, Decolonization.

  • Filed by:
  • Description: Speed up the decolonization process and ensure the expansion self determination, based on ethnic, and historical ties. Australia has agreed to Australian Indochina's independence in 1960 and gave West Indonesia theirs in 1948.

Argument: For the past 300 years the world has been under the sway of a small group of nations, so we propose that the initiation of a UN lead decolonization program to give the rights of and independent nation, a free life and freedom to those who it has been denied to for so long.

  • This resolution is open to Discussion in the security council and general assembly before nailing out the details as to any particular regions or dates in a second resolution.

IL Resolution #006: The de jure ownership of the Falkland Islands, South Georgia, et al.

  • Filed by:
  • Open to the Security council and General Assembly.
  • Description: It is to be noted that the Argentine Government has a long-standing claim to the Falkland Islands, Shag Rocks, Black Rocks and South Georgia, but that the citizens on the two inhabited islands (whose ancestors arrived about 175 to 150 years earlier) wish to remain British. Australian Indochina wishes to have a public plebiscite on the two inhabited islands to resolve the crisis once and for all.
The plebiscite questions on the Falklands and South Georgia would be as follows-
  1. Full Independence
  2. A UN protectorate
  3. Joint British/Argentine rule
  4. British rule
  5. Argentine rule

Both Shag Rocks and Black Rocks (who are scattered between the Falklands and South Georgia) are uninhabited save for wild life and would automatically be assumed to go whichever way the Falklands and South Georgia chose as of right after the plebiscite is held.
