Byzantine Emperor Heraclius converted to Islam, but he had difficulty converting nobility[1]. Heraclius eventually gave up. However, what if he pressed on and proved to them that Islam was the truth? This would lead to an Islamic Rome. Realizing that a strongly monotheistic religion fit in with his Arian-esque beliefs, Heraclius converted to Islam, restraining Islamic hyperexpansionism.
