History

Government

Iceland is a sovereign state in a personal union with Denmark. Iceland has its own flag, coat of arms, and defense forces. Plans are to review the Danish-Icelandic Act of Union in 1940. Iceland recognizes the Danish King as head of state. It is a constitutional monarchy. The legislative body is named Alþingi, translating to All-Things. Hermann Jónasson is the current Prime Minister of Iceland. The head of state is King Christian X, of Denmark.

Economy

Iceland currently has a small defense force. The government operates a National Police force, and the Iceland Defense Forces, consisting of the Ground Forces and the Coast Guard.

Much of the equipment is obsolete, but the Coast Guard has some relatively modern ships.

Coast Guard
