Hetalia: Central Powers is a is a Japanese comic, later adapted as a manga and an anime series, by Hidekazu Himaruya (日丸屋秀和, Himaruya Hidekazu?). The series presents an allegorical interpretation of political and historic events, particuarly relating to namely World War I in the 1910s that broke out against Russia and Japan and also presents the series from the 1950s-1992 with the fall of the Soviet Union and the fall of the Global Hungarian Empire. in which the various countries are represented by anthropomorphic characters. Hetalia (ヘタリア?) is a portmanteau combining hetare (ヘタレ?, Japanese for "incompetent") and Italia (イタリア?).

  • Template:AHG (ハンガリー, Hangarī) A strong and powerful female nation whom has a history of being one of the largest land empires in the world, Hungary lived up to her name by unifying Germany under her rule and was well known for her wars against Prussia, her eastern neighbor and the Ottoman Empire, responsible for both of their demises. Hungary usually hits Romania and Turkey with her frying pan due to her poor relations with them. She seems to get along with Russia nowadays ever since 1990 due to the Soviet Union's impending doom. She is a motherly figure to Germany, Bavaria and Transylvania.
  • Template:AHG (ロシア, Roshia) A tall and muscular male, Russia is described as that man whom is friendly, but also untrustworthy with unpredictable moods. Hungary describes Russia was "poor" and "underdeveloped" ever since his union disbanded in 1990. Russia usually keeps his eye out from his obsessive sister, Belarus and Kazakhstan, a tall girl whom speaks surprisingly good Russian. Russia fought Hungary in the past, but their wars were usually brief since she usually won against him quite often, making her an obstacle in his path for full control of Europe. To this day, Russia found Hungary a worthy opponent and is now great friends with her.

  • Template:AHG (ベルギー, Berugī) A friendly woman with a fierce anger, Belgium stood up to many threats that came from Hungary in the past until Hungary's eventual demise of her empire collapsing in 1992. She was incharge of the largest western Alliance in the world, the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) to combat the Hungarians and Russians should they invade the west. Belgium nowadays considers herself "retired" into the European Union since 1993, and regarded Hungary as a "friend" now. She is described by Netherlands and Hungary as a "Powerful Nation despite being Small" since Belgium holds a significant amount of influence in Western Europe bailing out nations such as Great Britain and Spain.
