Henry Agard Wallace (October 7, 1888 – November 18, 1965) was the 33rd President of the United States from 1943 to 1945. Wallace oversaw the defeat of the Axis Powers; namely the Confederate States of America. Despite the decisive victory over the C.S., Wallace was unable to defeat Governor Thomas E. Dewey during the 1944 presidential election.
