The Nation of Gwong is a member of the Chinese Union. For many centuries, it has been one of the most important economic areas of China. During the Pan-European War, Gwong fell to the Japanese. After the war, it regained its independence. Because of the tremendous economic growth of the British colony of Hong Kong, investment (particularly through low-wage manufacturing jobs) came to Gwong at an early stage. Over the decades, Gwong has moved up the ladder, and now is at the forefront (along with Hong Kong) at developing new technologies, though it is still not as wealthy as the neighboring city states of Hong Kong and Macau.
