King of Vinland from 1129 - 1130

1112-1130

After his father's death in 1129, Gulmund became the second king of an independent Vinland. Historians say that he was a mundane king, with nothing very special about him. He sent out many more explorers due to his love for the unknown, which contributed to the growth of Vinland significantly. One of the biggest things that he had to do was deal with the Byzantine emperor and his colony, and had to make a deal of peace to keep from going to war.

His reign was very short, because a dynasty switch occurred and killed him a year into his kingship. The Norwegian rebels saw an opportunity and killed him when they had the chance. To learn more about the new dynasty, click the link here.
