President Pugo taken during the Grozny Declartion

The Grozny Declartion was one of the first public address Boris Pugo made as President of the Soviet Union and it is a clear catalyst of the Second Russian Civil War. On November, 2, 1991 Boris Pugo traveled to the Chechen republics capital of Grozny, to speak to the hostile and seccionisst Chechen population. The address was meant to be an appeasement measure to placate the rebellious Chechens. But unfortunately Pugo's own fundamentalism caused this measure to fail, the entire address called any secessionists traitors to Russia and that they would be dealt with harshly. Moments after he finished the speech Pugo was shot by Chechen rebels and this began the First Battle of Grozny
