Gregory F. "Greg" Selinger (born February 16, 1951) is an American politician who currently serves as the Governor of Kahokia, having assumed the office in January of 2009. Prior to serving as Governor, Selinger was the State Treasurer of Kahokia, an appointed position, from 2001-2009, the only member of Gary Doer's Cabinet to serve the entire eight years. He was also an Assemblyman in the Kahokia State Assembly from 1999-2001 and was a member of the Winnipeg City Council from 1991-1999, failing to win the 1992 and 1996 mayoral contests during that time, losing to Susan Thompson on both occasions. He defeated U.S. Rep. Robert Sopuck in the 2008 gubernatorial contest and defeated State Senate Majority Leader Hugh McFadyen in the 2012 election. Kahokia has no term limits, but Selinger has not indicated if he intends to run for a third term.
