Introduction[]
The Greek Civil War was a conflict within Greece between the period of 1945 and 1948. It started as a result of the chaos surrounding the country prior to 1945, which looked as if the war would go to the United States backed Government; influence and resources coming from the Soviet Union led to the war turning the other way. The result being that the Communist Party of Greece took over the Government, and the country has stayed Red ever since.
