The Greater Southampton by-election was triggered was a by-election held on the 28th February 2013 for one of the seats of the Legislative Assembly constituency of Greater Southampton. The by-election was triggered by the resignation of the sitting MP, former Prime Minister Chris Huhne after his conviction for perverting the course of justice. The seat resulted in a shock gain by the National Liberals who gained the seat from the Social Liberals.
