The Election of 1843 was marked incredibly by the issue of Dueling, the Unionists taking the staunchest stance against it. They ended up winning 173 seats and forming a a tentative coalition government with the Agrarians who believed Cedrik Cottfried a better candidate than Godin. The composition of the new government is reflected on the chart and party positioning, with the two government parties coming first, and opposition or non-affiliated second.
