Gordon Brown is a British Labour Party politician who held several senior cabinet posts, including Chief Secretary to the Treasury (1987 - 1989), Trade and Industry Secretary (1989 - 1991) and most notably Chancellor of the Exchequer (1991 - 1996). He served as leader of the Labour Party 2000 - 2005.
