The Good Friday Plot was a conspiracy perpetrated by John Wilkes Booth, a well-known stage actor, as well as multiple other conspirators. The plot was carried out on Good Friday of 1865 and was an attempt to revive the Confederate cause. While the plot is most known for Booth's attempted assassination of President Abraham Lincoln, the conspirators also targeted Vice President Andrew Johnson and Secretary of State William H. Seward, the latter of which was the only one harmed during the plot.
