After the revolutions of the1848, Germany was unified with Habsburg possessions on the Inn-Danube. The king of prussia became the Kaiser.
However after having lost WW1, large parts of the land were given to Poland. A refernedum held in Bohemia led to independence from Germany. The Entente also separated East Prussia from Germany.
After World War 2, Germany was occupied by Louisianne, France and Russia.In 1951 after the death of Andrej Vlasov, the allies accepted the creation of a new Germany.

The largest minority are the Czechs, who form 60% of the local population. They speak a language akin to Slovak.
Another minority, the Lusatians, form 45% of the population in Lausitz, where Lusatian is the second official language.
The Bodrites, living in Eastern Mecklenburg are descendants of the Polabian Slavs. They make up 15% of population of Mecklenburg.
