The German State (German: Deutsche Staat) is a common English name for the period of history in Germany from 1933 to 1939, when it was a dictatorship under the control of Adolf Hitler and the Nazi Party (NSDAP). Under Hitler's rule, Germany was transformed into a totalitarian state.
From 1939, Adolf Hitler opens more democratically Germany until his final years of Führer (1972). Germany became a democratic country after the death of Hitler, still a unitary democratic republic, currently governed by the Social Democratic Party of Germany.
