[edit] History
The government of Germany found itself facing much problems following the Great War. It was forced to accept drastic terms of surrender that crippled its economy.
The government did manage to counter the efforts of some extremists (both on the far-left and far-right).
[edit] Form of Government
Voters directly elect the President of the Republic. He in turn names a Chancelor as head of the executive. This Chancelor is usualy (but not always) the leader of the party or coalition who has a majority in the Assembly of the Republic. Members of the Assembly of the Republic are elected through a proportional representation system.
