George H. W. Bush, President of the United States, 1989 official portrait
George Herbert Walker Bush
(born June 12, 1924) was the 41st President of the United States, serving for two terms, between 1993 and 2001. He continued Ronald Reagan's conservative politics, and antagonism towards the Soviet Union, which resulted in a very heated relationship between the two major powers, and the "Second Red Scare".

The Bush administration was heavily criticised during its reign for both its internal and foreign policies.

Bush is married to Barbara Pierce since 1945. They had six children together. Their daughter, Pauline died in leukemia in 1953, at the age of four. Their oldest son, George was killed in Havana during the Cuban-American Conflict in 1968. Their second oldest son, Jeb is currently a Republican senator.
