Georg von Hertling was a bavarian politician who served as Minister-President of Bavaria (1912 - 1917) before becoming Chancellor of the German Empire (1917 - 1919). He was the first party politician to serve as Chancellor of Germany.

As Chancellor he was regarded as a puppet of Hindenburg and Ludendorff.
