General Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Russia is, the title given to the leader of the Communist Party of Russia. With some exceptions, the office is synonymous with leader of the Russian SFSR. The Position dates back to the Soviet Union and has carried over since. The KRPF, which was the predecessor of the Current Party, had a first secretary, but has since been reorganized through mergers and its solidification of power.
