Flag of Free France 1940-1944

Flag of the French Resistance

The French Resistance is the formal name for the scattered French remnants after the German and Zheronian victory in the Second World War, led by Charles de Gaulle.

During the late 1940s and late 1950s, the Resistance made small attacks throughout Vichy France, led by the cybernetically-enhanced Philippe Petain. In 1954, however, the Resistance secured the Vichy French space ship Revolution Nationale while it was docked in Vichy. De Gaulle and most of the Resistance fled on the ship into space, and rechristened it the Free French Ship Georges Clemenceau.

On the Clemenceau, the Resistance began procuring ships from the black market. After amassing a sizable fleet, the Resistance began preying on unarmed Reich commerce, becoming a sizable organization of Space Pirates.

As the years went on, the Resistance began taking in several rebels on Earth, such as George Orwell, Suzanne Collins, and Christopher Hitchens. The Resistance also supplied the Sons of Liberty, the American resistance group, with weapons.
