Free City of Koenigsberg (Habsburg Restoration)

While the Allies decided to crush the Prussian state as an entity, a large German population remained in the East of Europe, especially in Eastern Prussia. With large portions of Eastern Prussia ceded to Poland and Lithuania, the remaining city of Koenigsberg with its harbour was granted independence. As the Polish government removed the German population from Poland (as an act of "revenge"), Koenigsberg became a haven for these refugees, but unfortunately this was also true for revisionist and ultra-nationalist movements.
