France's history is largely the same as OTL until the First European War.
After being defeated in the European War, France was in ruins. Hyperinflation destroyed the Franc, and radical parties sprung up fighting for control. Eventually, a party known as Action Français came to power, ending the Third Republic, and inaugurating the Fourth Kingdom (the 2nd was the Bourbon Restoration, and the 3rd was the July Monarchy)
