Since the end of the Great War, France has maintained a sometime strained relationship with the German republic. While it has signed various treaties to stabilise Germany, and hopes for a continued republican government, various political factions would prefer to maintain a hardline relation toward the country they perceive as their ancestral ennemy.
The begining of the Mediterranean War has brought Germany and France somewhat closer, although they have continued to consider themselves co-belligerents and not allies.
