The Crisis of the Third Century (CE 235-284), was a rather forgotten historical event in which the Roman Empire nearly collapsed under combined pressures of civil war, plague, economic depression, and raids on the eastern border. With an earlier collapse of the Roman Empire, the entire history of the Western world would be drastically changed.
